A strong legal framework as well as connected policies for worker protection and worker rights are crucial to secure decent working conditions for both men and women, young and old, as well as reaching living wages for all involved.

Issues to consider are:  legal contracts; statutory minimum wages that take inflation and living conditions into consideration; policies to secure health & safety at the work floor; policies to prohibit child labour and/or forced labour; strong enforcement of national labour laws and regulations; policies that promote collective bargaining processes.
