Meeting

The program aims to provide access to employment for 8,000 young people (50% women, 30% return migrants) after an integration course aimed at strengthening their technical and soft professional skills, in particular through the worksite-school approach.

Financed by the European Union's Emergency Trust Fund, for an amount of 35 million euros, the Program aims to improve the employability of young people and create sustainable jobs through integration pathways allowing them to develop a range of technical and human skills by organizing a diversified training offer.

The young people sign an internship contract for 9 months which corresponds to the duration of their integration course. The integration paths are framed by internal regulations that the young people and the training/integration structures are required to respect. 

During this nine-month period, young people receive a daily allowance of 35,000 GNF, of which 15,000 GNF are placed in savings with a microfinance institution. The capitalized savings are paid at the end of the integration process. This amount must be used to launch the professional integration of young people, either to finance their business plans or Objectives: 

  • Contribute to the prevention and limitation of irregular migration, as well as to enable the reintegration of returning migrants and the sustainable socio-professional integration of young Guineans, in order to promote the inclusive economic development of Guinea. 
  • SO1: jobs are created through labour-intensive work (HIMO) contributing to the implementation of economic development plans at the local level; 
  • SO2: young people have access to vocational training and preparation for working life, improving their employability; 
  • SO3: sustainable job opportunities are created through the development of entrepreneurship and the strengthening of certain value chains that create economic opportunities; 
  • SO4: an offer of financial services adapted and meeting the needs of the beneficiaries is disseminated and reinforced in the regions of intervention; 
  • SO5: the target populations of the regions of departure/intervention are informed of the opportunities presented by the action and made aware of the risks of irregular migration Lessons learned Enabel must be an initiator of change by establishing good practices in our interventions, including in our requirements at the level of our public contracts.
